The Master’s program in Veterinary Medicine is a continuation of the successfully completed Bachelor’s degree program in veterinary medicine. The subjects studied and knowledge acquired in the Bachelor’s program will be explored in more depth. Students acquire the fundamental practical skills required of a veterinarian. Alongside this, students will also be able to choose non-clinical specializations. All students must complete a Master’s thesis, which is regarded as an introduction to academic research. Upon successful completion of the Master's program, students take the final federal examination leading to the award of the Federal Veterinary Diploma. It is only once this has been gained that the holder is entitled to practice throughout all of Switzerland.
